Monochrome precipitation

During my break at school today I popped into Petersfield to run a few errands and took my camera with me. It was bucketing down with rain at the time so I wasn’t overly hopeful of finding anything good for today’s post. However, after a while the rain stopped and the sun came out momentarily. I whipped my camera out of my bag and started looking for some photo opportunities. As I walked across the town square I noticed lots of leaves lying on the ground. Among them I found this rather nice specimen with lots of fresh water droplets on it. The high contrast nature of the image immediately suggested it might work well in black and white so I’ve converted it to monochrome in Lightroom and brought out the texture in the leaf and the stone beneath it.
