Calm after the storm

2009.11.02

After the blustery weather yesterday the sun had come out this morning and there were some lovely puffy clouds in the sky. I decided to take a trip up to the Trundle at Goodwood to see if I could capture a good shot of my favourite lone tree there. I used my polarising filter to bring out the blue sky, although I’ve actually toned the effect down a little in Lightroom as it was so unrealistically blue straight out of the camera! While I was there I also followed the single track road which runs away northwards from the Trundle a little way and found a field of sheep on the hillside. I shot a few frames of them and the one I’ve posted here was my favourite with the warm sunshine illuminating the sheep as she looked straight into my lens.

davids I suspect the sheep feels a bit washed and blow-dried after the recent weather

miltonjacob beautiful! liked the way u set aside a large space for the sky at the same time not loosing the focus on the subjects. cool

CKDay Now that the sun is out, that tree looks like a nice place to sit a read for a spell.
